Special Features for a Limited Engagement

My "special features" were for a limited time only, and Evelyn was sad that their run ended. Today she got none. She grumped a bit and pointed to my breasts, and in her nasal tone said "dis. diiiiis!" I shook my head. "No?" she asked with her face scrunched and shook her head then embraced me with frustration. No my love. No more. I am bummed I had to cut her off. I wished it would have ended mutually conveniently. But she eats meat now, and she gets full nutrition elsewhere. The fast food outlets were becoming more of a touchstone for comfort (how's that for a mixed metaphor?) and became less comfortable for me given the frequent, very public and very demanding drive thrus she made. My goal was 12 months. We are broaching 16.

Snuggling in bed two mornings ago, Graham queried, "Mom?"
"Yes, Graham" I said snuggling into his warm face and curly locks.
"Do you aaaaalways clean your underarms when you shower?"
"Yes, every time."
"aaaaalways?"
"Yes, every time."
"Me too."
Snuggle. Snuggle. Snuggle.
Graham again, "but mine always smell ... better than yours."
