Squirmin' Wormins

Sooooo...sorry I didn't put words with this yesterday. Here we are, yes, in early February with a lawn that looks like a giant tray of wheatgrass -- it's rye grass so it's close. We overseeded this winter; our zoysia grass is under there dormant. Our crazy Texas weather has the temps in the 70s and the humidity high. It makes my ears hurt when the barometric pressure is this low, and the sticky air sits on us from out of the gulf. Oh well, everyone has their weather issues, and I think of you up there freezing on your farm and saving cats from becoming stalagmites under your porch, Josie. We planted all sorts of spring beauties -- all chosen by Paige and Graham except for the lettuces and herbs I selected. The flowers include: tulips, daffodils, pansies, lobelia, johnny jump-ups, snapdragons, mexican milkweed (for monarch butterflies), cyclamen, gerbera daisies, primula and more. They all got a kick out of the "poop pot" the mesclun greens came in (see pic of Paige and Annelise and you can spot the rim of the plantable poop pot). They all got nice and dirty with our rich, organic composty soil and giggled while watching writhing worms on the palms of their little garden gloves. Emily-the-Babysitter took a few of these pics, including the first one that I love, Paige as a curly blur enjoying the lawn. The baby pics of Toby show how good a little feeder he is -- already closing the gap on Evie...he now weighs in over 13 1/2 lbs!! That's at 8 weeks, folks! In the piccy Nick took of me, you can see Ev's head as she is tucked on the couch behind me while we watched the dramatic end to the Superbowl. Okay, off to do other Mommy chores now! The sky is foreboding, and our flowers will welcome the drink.

Did you take those pictures in FEBRUARY??? It's so green it almost hurts my eyes! I'm living in a black and white (and crystal, as we're in ice storm land) world at the moment. What beautiful garden helpers you have...

Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I can smell it all if I close my eyes tight enough! That green grass is remarkable! Makes my inner spring drool! We are in black and white too and the color that you shared is pure eye candy Steph! I love the one of Paige running by too! All of the pictures were great as always! How could they not be with all of those adorable bunnies that are your children and thier friends and the gorgeous flowers they chose!

Regan is right about the eye candy -- if you can view how many hits your blog gets and where they came from I'll be embarrassed, as I've been getting a shot of green from these pics several times a day... :)
