Pausing to acknowledge a true hero

Thanks to everyone who was concerned about us this week. We are fine.


What does it take to be a hero? This week, for me, it's a woman, a mother, a wife, a neighbor who fought off two strong male attackers, who would have done unspeakable things to her and likely killed her but she fought back with all that she had. So instead of a tragedy occuring on our block this week, there was a big fat denial -- no you won't take her, you won't ruin her life, the lives of her children, her husband. She is to be lifted up by all who know her. I am in awe of her strength and her courage.
