Wow. I know there are people out there who have decided to stop checking my blog because it's been so long. Sorry, and please come back! While we've been busy hosting 9 relatives with 4 separate arrivals and 4 separate departure dates (squeeze that into less than one week's time and do the math on our airport commutes), a president has died, and a maniacal dictator has been executed. We have celebrated, feasted, and posed for countless pictures of holiday bliss. The kids are happy, I am exhausted, and a great, song-filled Christmas is in the history books. We have begun the dismantling process of our decorations, and despite their protests, the kids even enjoyed "demolitioning" their gingerbread houses -- ala the bulldozing of the house next door -- before I pitched them in the trash bag. Nature has been unkind to our outdoor display with two rounds of gusting windstorms knocking our inflatables down and crashing our fiberoptic gingerbread houses with lasting damage.
Graham has told us some doozies today. Starting with this conversation:
"Um, Mommy? I think next year we should get a plastic tree." he said while he pulled of his favorite ornaments and placed them neatly in like-kind stacks.
"Why do you say that, Grahamie?"
"Well, that way it won't die like this one."
Then there was one this afternoon Al will have to remind me of, because I have now forgotten.
The cherry on the top was this tonight:
"I don't want it to grow any bigger Mommy" Paige said, looking at my stomach.
"Honey it has to get bigger for the baby to be ready to come out."
"Well, I don't want it to get as big as that lady's the other day in the toy store."
"Oh, it probably will Paige. It will get out to here" I motion beyond my growing bump.
"Then, Mommy, does it crack?" Quizzed Graham.
"No it comes out my girl parts" I say, choking back laughs.
"Does that hurt?" both ask and look concerned.
"Well, not forever, just when it's coming out."
"Then do they put a bandaid over it, over your girl parts, Mommy?" Asked Graham.
"Yes, honey, and it gets all better."

I now have my 'daft' smile on my face...the one that I have whenever I read your little stories,Stephanie...I love the ones that I have just read today. Is 'the Bump' really showing that much now? I have lost track of how far along you are....those two kids of yours are a delight!! xxx
Well I don't think the bump is THAT big, but a 3 1/2 year old is known for being brutally honest. This morning she laughed at me and said, "Mommy! Your bumbum is wiggling and jiggling." Thanks sweetie! She also edits my blouse choices these days because I'm getting pretty chesty. Man! It is a laugh a minute.
p.s. I'm four months preggie now, Auntie Norma.
Oh Steph, that last bit is absolutely priceless. V Funny. And 4 months preggie now!!! Woohoo!!! You will be entering your "glowing and serene" bit now. XXXXX
