Yes, this week I am having the kitchen backsplash retiled. It's a great time to do it, don't you agree? Nothing going on, no stress, no rushing around? Well, anyway, it's happening. And let's all hope it is done before Friday, when I am supposed to cook for our friends, aka Al's current boss, his former boss and their wives and a colleague and his wife thrown in for fun! Hey, did somebody say spike Steph's eggnog NOW???!?!?!?
Now I must add the follow-up/update on the God-forsaken Christmas Cards!!! They called at 5 p.m. today to say they are in, so of course, I rushed over in traffic with twin toddlers to get them. You can imagine the blood rushing to my face and my stomach going Grinch-green-sour when I opened the box and it wasn't the way we had ordered them. Two things: first, I know when most people get them they will think they are great, cute, etc. But they aren't my first choice card to begin with, if you recall. Second, when we opted to do these we were hoping for the picture to take up MOST OF THE CARD. Instead, I got a leeeeeeeeeetle biiiiiiiiiiiiitty picture of the kids, turned the wrong way with text running on half the card in a boring font that takes up too much room. GRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, grrrr and more grrrrrr. The lady I worked with understood my disappointment and did extend a discount. But trust me, I would have paid 3X just to have had the card I wanted weeks ago...
So enjoy this vid we took today and related pic taken by Paige, because I know that the card is not the most important thing in the world. (It is just that I have such lofty aspirations when it comes to wowing my friends and family with a fun and festive holiday greeting complete with a charming image of my two amazing children. Okay, really I'll stop talking about it now.) The workers are removing all the lovely-but-not-my-taste fruity/floral tile and replacing it with some nice, clean porcelain tile. The color is "linen".
Note on the video, Graham and I are saying some things in Spanish. Abajo=down and esponja=sponge

I could sit and watch these vid's all day - I really could, they really make me smile. I'm sure the end result will be worth all the stress. It did make me laugh when you were going on about the christmas card - I know it's not how you wanted it to look but you remind me of how I would be soooo much. I bet it's gorgeous!!! Have a lovely Christmas Steph, give your gorgeous toddlers a kiss from me. XXXXX
Me, too...I love the videos.
So sorry about the cards, Steph! What crap. I'm sure I will treasure it anyway, but I can feel your frustration.
I played it over and over again...I so enjoyed it..xx
