DIY because noone else will...

I had a refrigerator repair guy around to service several appliances a few months ago. He said I needed to do my own repair on the freezer drawer. Simply put, he wouldn't do it for me. I'm not sure who else you call when your service guy tells you do DIY, but I wasn't willing to pay another person to come out and give me the my-neighborhood-upcharge for his bum-revealing..err..assessment. So I bought the can of special paint (rustoleum) and did nothing for a couple of months.

The whole refrigerator started humming and buzzing so loudly I could no longer hear what people were saying in the next room, so I took that as a sign, "Hey, lady, fix me"

I turned it off and melted the iceberg inside. That took two days and all our beach towels.

Next I scrubbed the edge with an SOS pad.

Cleaning was in order. It was a bit gross. Slime, wetness and long lost wads of dog hair from the previous owner behind the kickplate.

Painting.

Drying.

More drying.

Next day, so pleased, I turned the machine back on and VIOLA. Silent cool refrigeration once more.

Ice cream, anyone?

I have a water softener you might need to take a look at.
