This past weekend we took our friends Katie, Nick and Adrienne down to South Texas for a new experience to all three -- quail hunting. We really did it up big with morning shoots at Santa Cruz (Anadarko's hunting lease) and afternoons at our tried-and-true La Venada Camp. The normally arid landscape was soaked with unusual rainfall, and Saturday morning our truck got stuck in the mud! Everyone was quick to pick up the sport, and with sheer determination on the part of K, N & A plus patience and expert instruction from our guides at both camps, soon we were a hunting party of five.
Our baby girl liked boppin' around on the trucks and when mom was walking outdoors -- she went right to sleep. But when I sat down for dinner, she really woke up and stretched out inside me.

How is it that you don't look at all pregnant in that photo with the gun over your shoulder, and I'm pretty sure they don't make maternity hunting pants, right? Ha ha! I am glad you had a good time, and that everyone was successful. Nice photos.
Katie did a nice job taking that pic. I had my pants held together with a ponytail holder -- a trick I believe I learned from you, oh petite sister. And, no, hunting pants have not even evolved into low-waisted nevermind maternity. The damn zipper must be 12 inches long on those suckers! So attractive, I was channeling Humpty Dumpty under that vest.
Oh,Stephanie..you bring it all back to me when you tell us of the little Gem you are carrying...ooo I just LOVE to hear you telling your little anecdotes...xx
Its been a week... miss my P & G & niece updates!
