Morningtime at the Walker house

This morning, since Paige and Graham awoke early, I had time to make french toast. I used some two-day old brioche from Andre's bakery. They each dressed themselves as they have been doing for the past few weeks with less and less involvement by Mom. They both forgot undies, so Graham went upstarts to get a pair for each of them. Paige has on two shades of clashing blue, velour sweatpants and a tutu for school today. Here was the reaction as they came down the stairs:

"Mom, what's that smell? What are you baking down there?"

"French toast, Paigie."

"Mmmm. Smells really, really good!"

--then as they are eating it---

"Mom, this breakie is so good, I can't handle it!"

Nice to be appreciated.
