Playtime Conversation with Paige and Graham

Paige and Graham doing a "trade" Paige just told me the definition of trade after I snapped this picture. "It's when I give him something and he gives me something back, Mommy."

Here's a video from this afternoon. There is one that is even better, but unfortunately for my blog audience, it contains too much personal info -- Paige and Graham can now recite address and telephone numbers!

And below are some pics from yesterday, when Graham and his buddy Pierce helped me plant out some poppies and sweetpeas. They loved digging up the worms and putting them back in the soil. We also banished all the snails to the street with powerful, big boy throws. They dug every single hole for my two flats of flowers.

How many 3 1/2 yr olds do you see covering a cough?

Boy, this post is chock full o'goodies! The video is great - I love listening to them talk. They are both so articulate in different ways. Way to draw Graham out in the interview, journalista! The gardening photos are precious - great wintry light, and such earnest little helpers, with that adorable watering can.

Whew.

Oh, as I look at your flowers (and kids playing in the dirt!!!) I'm supremely jealous of your "winter". We're gunning for a high in the single digits today, with over a foot of snow on the ground, and sweet peas are a distant dream (might be able to plant some out by, oh, May). My boys will be planting green bean seeds in a jar on the windowsill today to be able to watch the roots go down and the sprout go up. A far cry from playing with worms!

Always love your pictures!

Danny and Michael LOVED the video! They love all the P&G's video's and listening to their voices. Yesterday was the letter "G" day at their preschool and everyone had to think of a "G" word at circle when it was their turn. Well the teacher said the Michael thought and thought and was making the "g-g-g" sound until he exclaimed "Graham! My friend Graham!". Asking why the teacher was surprised at this as he could have a friend in one of his hundreds of park and neighborhood friends that was named Graham, I was tickled that Danny had to interupt and stop circle to explain to all of their little classmates who Paige and Graham are to them. The teacher said that Danny told them that they are their beach friends but the live in Texas and their Mom has curly read hair. Haha! Here I thought that you had your hair up the entire time on the beach in Nantucket! I think they are see you all of the time via your blog!
Worm away our Texan beach friends!

I couldn't listen to the sound yet, because I'm in bed with DH and he's sleeping, but they are so cute! I love Paige's serious thinking expression and that little "Hmm" sort of frown just before she explains something (at least, I think she was explaining, since I couldn't hear) and I love that all through her commentary, Graham is trying to stuff things in his mouth! lol.

I'm amazed that both of them can sit so calmly though. My Morgan doesn't seem to possess that ability! You've got a couple of keepers there!
