The Mid-Week Review

Life is humming along at the Walker house. Nana and Grandad came for a visit last weekend. Of course there were some great moments, like when Graham was hanging out in the pool with Nana for more than a half hour, just sitting and goofin' around. Then there were those moments that only happen because your parents are watching, like when Paige woke up EXTREMELY grumpy from her nap, and was distressed by all the people in the room (10 adult eyeballs on her) so she lashed out as only a toddler can. She hit me in the face. It wasn't a dramatic moment, and I could sense her tension. Well, so that was strange, and not something that happens every day, or even every week or month. No, only when my parents are around to witness it.

Graham cried for a long while Tuesday night when we read a book about puppies. He loves my parents' chihuahua. He wailed for Patchie. We are working on talking to him about past/present/future as urged by the developmental gurus of the world. This is a concept he should be getting his head around. Hmmm...I'm not sure. We have made several trips to the guest bedroom to see if Patchie is in there. Paige tells Graham, "No Patchie is." It would appear Yoda is teaching my child to speak.

I had a massage tonight that worked wonders to erase some of the tensions from the past week. Just before that, I enjoyed watching the kids devour the dinner I made for them and we all three swam in the pool with great delight. Oh, yes, it was a good day.

It was a great weekend for us because we got so much "hang-out" time with P & G. I particularly enjoyed all the calling of my name and reaching out for me! Don't stress too much over us witnessing the Paigie Moment - when she was staring you down, I had a flash back to years ago when I was stared down by one little red-headed cutie! Love you, M/Nana
