It is well

The second annual trip to First Pres of Bellevue did not disappoint. This place just gets it all so right. First, we dropped Ev off with a crew of smiling young ladies at the nursery. Yes, she went in willingly, no tears, not even the slightest hesitation. Easy peasy. Don't know if that was due in large part to the fact that that area of the church had a/c...then Paige and Graham went with us to worship, just a stone's throw from the nursery, just past the perfect cry/nursing room which I oohed and ahhed over last year when I was still nursing Ev. After a few songs together, big kids were collected and ushered to their Sunday School class.

Gorgeous light floods the sanctuary from the skylights and the massive pipes of the organ feel not like stuffy, overbearing, YouthDew suffocating power -- but seem more like heavenly lungs and larynx for the congregation. Everyone on every pew sang sincerely. Tears welled in my eyes as we listened to the visiting musicians -- a couple from Cincinnati who enchanted us with gorgeous harp, cello, acoustic guitar and soothing voices. The associate pastor gave a clever sermon on listening and acting when called, even squeezing in a little Beatles song. The whole place seemed to be in the groove. All goodness and a flock heading in the right direction. What a wonderful church.

I enjoyed their church, too. Did they show you their "reserved spaces?"
