I can just hear my friend Jenny's dismay at my maniacal ironing habits, and Gloria Steinem and Betty Freidan followers should look the other way, considering this the antithesis of progress, but I beg to differ! After a summer of living in the moment, here is what I knocked out in the laundry room when we returned to the ol' routine of Saturday Morning Errands Gang aka Al's Starbucks time with the children. Ah....clean and organized. The rest of the house looks a complete disaster, but this will have to do; I am no martyr. Now I'm off to treat myself to a trip to the farmer's market, where my buddy Van with Woodduck Farms will have made something delicious for us to dine on tonight. Liberated, indeed.
Speaking of progress, here is the side lawn progress, done by many many hard working Mexican Americans and a few Caucasian ones as well. It looks like a moonscape now, but see my beautiful BIG vegetable garden come to fruition? It is just begging for plants now. The special rabbit-turd, organic dirt I ordered will arrive next week, and the sprinkler system will go in. Then they will put in grass and trees. I can't wait to start planting the following week!!!

I loathe ironing. But I do like the satisfaction of finished laundry.
The side yard is looking good! What do you plant this time of year?
Are you taking in any sharecroppers? I'm about to give up!
