Yesterday did not begin well. On the way to breakfast, Evelyn took a detour at the front desk, ever in search of her canine friend, Tricky. Paige and Graham kept walking into the breakfast room, and usually that is something they can handle with manners and more than enough maturity. Apparently Graham had a brain lapse; he was so excited that twin girls had invited us to a carnival this morning, that when Paige bent to whisper in his ear, he bit her near the tricep. I still can't make sense of that move, but it resulted in him spending the majority of his morning in his room with frozen peas on his red bum. Six is entirely too old to bite, and he isn't an aggressive boy, so I was a mixture of embarrassed, perplexed and absolutely infuriated with him.
We had plans to do so much, and I could not reconcile missing out on other activities just because HE needed consequences. Natural consequences did occur: the girls' parents were in the breakfast area and I think the offer to go with them was rescinded when they witness Graham's behavior. So after a while, with apologies -- sincere ones -- flowing from his lips, we headed to town for a day of music at the Atheneum. Molly Glazer and Susan Salidor put on a concert in the Great Hall. It was extremely well-attended by all the island tots.
We dined on pizza and biked around an idyllic outdoor concert: one singer/songwriter crooning about life and loneliness by the Easy St. docks to a crowd of picnickers. Back home, we encountered a second dinner of grilled burgers and hotdogs put on by Cliffside. I snapped a couple of nice pics of the kids with staff members Helen (life guard) and John (too many titles to list)

Poor Paige! Oh Graham...
We had a major brain lapse with Claire last night...she threw a large plastic toy that nearly hit Bryce in the forehead. (too close for comfort) Luckily it missed his head, but hit my head board-denting the wood. She was shocked with herself, and knew as soon as it happened that it was wrong!
Glad that the rest of the day went well.
