Easter Tradition

Paige and Graham are so very aware of all the traditions now, and thank goodness my mom has continued hers of baking this fun and yummy bread. It never disappoints and we had to have a first slice tonight. So fresh, soft and PINK. Just like I remember as a child. Paige had to call her and let her know how delish that first taste was! mmm. mmm. mmmmmm!

My dad gently pulled the camera from around my neck and presto! he was able to immediately focus the wondercam on me for a change

And again at the afternoon fete, our good friend Tom adeptly snapped a few shots, including this one (maybe I am just a little slow on the uptake with this manual focusing depth-of-field business but I was awed at how easily everyone else seems to be doing it!)

It was a HUGELY busy day, and swimming with neighbor friends was the perfect way to burn off all that sugar. Here are Paige and Graham all fresh and ready for burgers

It was a special morning and I'm glad I didn't miss it. The pics are presenting a problem - I don't know which one will be my new wallpaper. Currently it's first one from the previous post.

What? A flattering anon comment? Well, butter me up, baby? Just kidding. Seriously I am really into photography and have been since taking a little class in my mid 20s. Now I have so many opportunities to capture sweet moments I am constantly snapping away. The equipment has DEFINITELY been an eye opening improvement. I went with Leica because it is German engineering and we all know they make the best. All the "great" photographers who ever were tended to use a Leica. Okay that is an overstatement, but it is hallowed in the halls of photography. I went with the M8 because it is Leica's well-received foray into the field of digital. Still has all the old school charm minus the thumb film advance. And it works with virtually all the lenses I might ever acquire. For now I just have one lens for it, but, like any addict, I am already itchy for the next taste.

..Hmmm, well I am no expert with a Camera but I agree with Anon. that you are streets ahead with your Subjects! I love the one of Evie 'posing' :)

Our Easter weekend was packed, too, but sadly our Easter bread suffered -- I let it go way too long on the second rise, and it looked like one big flatbread. However, with meyer lemon icing (still have a few in the bottom of my fridge) it still tasted OK.

Even the Leica couldn't have improved its appearance, though.
