Lil Ev

It seemed pretty obvious to me from the get-go that Evelyn's name would go through some trial and error nicknaming before we landed on the one that stuck. Well, at three months, it is looking like "Ev" or "Evie" pronounced like heavy without the 'h' are the front runners with her siblings. I tend to call her Evelyn. Sometimes Evie Bea. Any way you say it, she's a little scrumptious-bummed gem. We are so in love.

She can follow objects with her eyes, locking on with laser beam concentration. She first laughed a tiny giggle at her starfish in the bouncy seat aquarium feature. She coos and smiles at faces, especially if you are GRANDAD with glasses on. Nana is a big winner in the smiles department too. She loves her Daddy's voice. She gets full-on mouth kisses from Graham. He'll tell you, "You know where the best place to kiss Evie is? On her mouth." Okay...Paigie sings her lullabies with ad lib words to the tune of Lullaby and Goodnight such as:

It's okay, little Ev
Mommy's gonna give you boobie
It's okay, it's okay
Mommy's coming here right now

So funny. Other developmental stuff...she sleeps 4-5 hrs, eats and sleeps another 3 most every night. Fine by me. I'm not at all tired most days. Right now we are all battling a round of sniffles. I'm achy and wondering how much she is suffering from it. Glad to be nursing so she's getting antibodies, that's for sure.

She only really screams if I leave and she was hoping to nurse. She tends to say ooooooh or mmmmmm with a pouty lip for me rather than full tilt wailing. She's so sweet-natured, she hardly seems to want to fuss at me.

Speaking of fuss, the little gentle noises tell me she's up from her nap now...
