Yesterday Ev and I went to get her passport at the post office. Even though I had my passport, her ss, and all the paperwork completed, we were missing a crucial item. We had to make a special trip down to the Health and Human Services offices Department of Birth and Death Certificates. It was a nasty building with an even nastier parking garage with a broken elevator, so we had to take the sweltering hot stairs. Ugh ugh and hoofin' it across the cement jungle with a hot mad hungry baby strapped to you...well, I was just really not having much fun. It was a huge ordeal and I don't know who was more exhausted at the end of the day, her or me. I do know she has a serious aversion to being placed in her carseat now...she has hollered so much she's hoarse now. I don't even blame her. But hopefully the upshot is we will be able to go places -- even on a moment's notice -- anywhere we want. Oh just the thought makes me excited. It was as though the weather and the gross factor were nudging us to make travel plans. Sounds good to me!
Tonight the kids enjoyed a bath with their baby sister in the tub with them. I held her on my knees. I was very impressed with their ability to calm their play so they wouldn't splash her or disturb the water around her. They were so gentle and loving. After we all got out, they rubbed lotion all over her and cooed lovingly. Then they each fastened a tab on her diaper. Aha! So, yes, they are willing to help with diapers!
On Evie's progress: She's 14 1/2 weeks now. I can't get enough of her she's so scrumptious and gorgeous and squishy. She still sticks her little pouty lip out when she fusses. I am trying to get a good picture of that this week. She's getting a case of the "momities" (pronounces MOM ee Ts) as Mireya used to call it -- she doesn't want anyone holding her but me. Not that I think it's because I'm so fabulous, no, it has more to do with the milk vending aspect of my body. Two convenient fast food outlets, right here! ;) She has giggled a bit lately and we are looking forward to more of that. She is always enthralled with Graham. He performs for her. She can sit in the Bumbo seat and he will put on a show while I do dishes. That is spectacular! When the big kids are at school I think she misses their noise. She can go in the baby bjorn facing out now and really enjoyed a birthday party last weekend that way. I started dancing mindlessly with her arms to the music and a kind mom walked over to me to let me know Evelyn was asleep when I started doing that. Oops.
I am beat. Will edit this post if it is unintelligible tomorrow.

Oh my, that's one sweet squishy baby!!! How I wish I could snuggle that little sweetie!
Josie
She certainly looks snuggly! And she definitely has a different look than either Paige or Graham.
