Yeah for fall!

We've got our fall decorations out and are counting down the days until Halloween. Here are some pics from this weekend. We helped sponsored a fundraiser for pediatric literacy called Read and Romp, and our table was the cookie decorating station. It was to match the theme of the book "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie" Live music and tons of dancing burned off that sugar. It was a very fun time. Then both kids took a great nap and recharged their batteries for our friend Patrick's 3rd birthday party at the gymnastics academy. Daddy came home from his annual Canadian geese-hunting trip just before the end of a very busy day. Sometimes we REALLY know how to pack it in!

Today is a slower paced Sunday. After church, we had the Millers over for pulled pork and mixed greens from my favorite farmers market vendor, Wood Duck Farms. Now there is the typical Sunday smackdown (joke but equivalent zeal on all parts) over naps. Daddy is outside on his Blackberry, leaving me to do battle. I think I'm losing the fight...edited to add that Al had to take Graham for a "walk and talk" to get our boy back in line. Paige, meanwhile, took too long a nap and was groggy and grumpy when she awoke. Striving for happy medium, but so often it seems we get two ends of the spectrum! Now we are all hugs and fun, playing in the yard and riding bikes with Daddy.

Argh, I hate that stage, when they are between really needing a nap and great without one. No happy medium there, eh? Good photos as usual - Christopher is getting really big!

I'm glad the fundraiser went well, and your brief description of Sunday dinner was enough to make me miss your cooking. (Which is impressive as I am in no way starved for good food here!)

It was soooo good to hear all of your voices on the phone. Sorry it wasn't such a good experience for Graham! Give him an extra kiss from me, please.

Also, it's funny that you mentioned the ABC shows on their website. They don't let people outside of the US access it! I get a very sad message that denies me access. OH well... there's always reruns and shows on DVD!

Much Love,
Emily, the babysitter

Aaah yes the wonderful (not) stage of really really needing to nap but determined not to. Couple that with the waking up ever so grumpy and you start bashing your head with large objects. Wonderful pics Steph, don't know how you do it all, I really don't. XXXXX
