Rib tickling

I know these box pictures are not the most amazing photography ever, but they were having so much fun just monkeying around with this cardboard box. How much longer will they both be able to fit in a box together and get tickled pretending to be little Jack in the Boxes? I'm feeling like it is whirring by...but it was so fun to watch them from my recycled wine barrel staves chairs that came in the box. They played until the sun set.

And if that doesn't bring a smile to your face, ribs anyone? Once again, I love the farmer's market vendors for making my life so flavorful. Tonight was mustard greens, cherry tomatoes, ribs, white bean chili and snap peas! I introduced the kids to the phrase, "That was finger lickin' good" and then Al chimed in with a phrase that must be peculiar to North Carolinians, "Paige, a racoon couldn't get more meat off that bone you got it so clean!" We were all in giggling.

Okay, we are FINALLY a house of healthy people again. I attribute most of our recovery to the installation of two new humidifiers in Paige and Graham's room. Graham's is Thomas the Tank Engine. The "smoke" comes out of his smokestack and he lights up. Pretty cool. Paige's is a penguin, and though she loves her penguin, she says she hopes she gets the Hello Kitty one (yes, they make one) for Christmas! What a wish -- a humidifier for Christmas. Oh well, I love Target: cheap prices and literally everything we could ask for.

Other notable comments in the time since my last entry:

After hauling his sister around on the back of his bike (she stands on the training wheel hubs and puts her arms around his waist) Graham looked up at me and said, "Mommy, my legs are so tired, they are falling asleep in my pants." While I was giggling he followed with, "I better eat some chicken to make my muscles strong."

Paige made a beaded necklace for her Daddy and was trying to decide where he should put it. I suggested his briefcase. She replied, "Mommy, why is it called a briefcase? Is it because it looks like briefs?"

Tonight we sang the Jetson's song from the old classic cartoon. Graham got excited and said, "Mommy, we goed there too. We were at Jetsons and watched the fireworks and stuff. Right Mommy?" He was remembering Jetties beach in Nantucket.

I guess nature wants in on the laughs tonight -- a racoon just waddled past my office windows as I was typing up this post!

Cute post Steph! Those kiddos are growing up so much.....=)

Funny you mention a racoon. While I was driving home from babysitting, late last night, a racoon stood straight up on his hind legs, looked at me and waddled off in the brush. TOo funny!

XOXOXO!

I love Graham's rib-eating outfit. He is such a character. I am so glad to hear you are al feeling well.

The box pictures are great. I love the one where they are hiding eachother's eyes. Paige's legs are getting long!

Yes, I like the box pictures, too. Amazing how creative kids are -- they can have fun with a cardboard box! I like how they are figuring things out, too.
