Last Friday I hosted a dinner party for 19 people. That was fun and exhausting at the same time. Emily and Steve came for a visit that night, and so did my Mom and Dad the following day. Al left for NYC for the week when they all left, and after naptime Monday we went to the club with our 5 invited guests (Winnie, Will, Adrienne, Katie and Nick) and celebrated Labor Day. Exhausted reading that? Well, you get a sense for how I started my week.
Here it is Thursday night, and I've been busy. I made a nice clean bed by the driveway out of seventeen 40-lb bags of pea gravel. I've done almost all the laundry, ironing, buffed the floors and the kids are snug in bed. Ahhh, minutes ago I sat on the couch and thought, my poor blog readers have been deprived. So here's a video. Ooops, but wait let me just give two more details. First, Paige and Graham decided to jump off the diving board on Monday night. So that requires them bravely walking out to the edge of the board, and me, treading water, under the board in the deep end, saying, "Toes to the edge", counting to three, then scooping them up by the arm as they plummet in the water. Now muliply that by two. Add a fun tunnel slide. Add THE FRICKIN HIGH DIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both little 3 yr-old pipsqueaks actually jumped off the high dive. That is how I spent ALL of Labor Day evening while others sipped their drinks and laughed at the older kids in the pie eating contest. Needless to say, I didn't get to snap a pic of the milestone occassion, being immersed in the intense, heart-pounding moment in 11 ft-deep water!
Secondly, Andrea and Malik came over last night for a swim and dinner. Andrea even made a chicken pot pie. She had last night and tonight available on her calendar for spending with us. I opted for last night after checking the moon calendar and seeing that today (at 1:42 p.m.) was the full moon. Well, sure enough she was having contractions last night, and today at 1:05 p.m. little Mekhi entered the world. Welcome, Mekhi, you German engineered precision wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay okay now here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT-uDFeI7zA

Oh WOW! I'm so happy for Andrea and the whole family. A new baby is exciting.
What a sweet video. I love how Graham finally remembers his music teacher after Paige INSISTS it's Mrs. Chambers and Graham finally goes, "Ohhhhh, yeah."
Love it!
XOXOXO!
OK, first I burst with laughter a the MALENESS of Graham saying,"NO!..... oh, yeah..." Then, my eyes filled with tears when sweet Paigie said its for "Auntie Jenn."
You can bring me a necklace ANYTIME.
I'm exhausted reading all that Steph! Think you need to put your feet up now and rest. Love the video, I'm going to the Childrens Resource Centre tomorrow to get some beads, if Lukey doesn't want to thread them, I'll do it, looks so relaxing. Love and hugs. XX
