Near intoxication

Life on this Monday is abuzz. It's a big laundry day, but the best kind of laundry day. The air is crisp and clean and the sky a bright piercing blue. I have cranked open the windows, and the energy of the amazing dry air is enough to make me light-headed. Outside, the birds are busy in my chimneys (guess I'll keep the chimney sweeps busy this winter), and the butterflies are rushing around my flowers. It would seem all of nature is taking advantage of this extraordinary start to the week. All of nature and all of man, too. Down the street, construction looms heavily over a house that is too big and juts out too far into the sightline of our friends. The street is littered with chunks of blown-in insulation, sawdust and odds and ends of 2x4s, nails and more. Next door to the west, crews prep the house for major renovation -- a new garage and master bedroom suite. Outside my very own driveway is blocked by a crane truck subcontractor with the name HEAVE HO on the door. Today we are getting a new condensor and a new coil for two of our air conditioning units. And now, the kids are due home.

More later...

This cold front has been such a God-send! We've had our windows open these past few days, and I LOVE it!
Also, I hope all that construction hasn't interrupted the little guys' naps.....=/
Though, I can see how, especially Graham, would enjoy the cool vehicles all around.
BTW: How are you getting out of your driveway?...?

Can't wait to hear more!

XOXO!

HUH!!! tell me about it,Steph. for the last 3 years we have had 14..3 storey houses being built next to us..one just 4 feet away from our 6 foot fence...the lady developer is dragging her feet because we have all caused an uproar at the idea of these homes intruding in our small Village..she now has no planning permission but the 'Ass of a Law' says she can go ahead...but it will be on the deeds that they have no planning permission and so will not be able to sell!!!..when you describe the blowing about of debris I know exactly how you feel..but remember 'nothing lasts forever' (or so they say)..brave smiles. :o)
