It was a sunny and breezy day. Here we are getting the kite in the air. Bevie was helping Paige jump the waves!
The umbrellas were so colorful, and the beach filled up to three times the number of people you see here.

Notice our little girl with a ladybug kite flying high!

We are living life at warp speed. Here's to the busy and adventure-filled summer of 2006 -- and it's only half over! I still have not written much about anything in the past month. But I just can't get my thoughts organized or condense the great number of experiences into a post that I could even get jotted down before the day would run me over. I am really looking forward to some slow lazy days at the beach in Nantucket.
Yesterday, Bevie and I took the kids to Galveston because Bev had never been to any of the Texas beaches before. Bev spent her early childhood in Hawaii and San Diego, with even a short stint in Rhode Island; I think it was a good thing she has had a lot of time go by before she experienced a gulfshore beach. See, our beaches just ain't that pretty. That said, we had a very fun day playing in the sand, wading in the murky water (shrimpers just in the distance, and at one point a tanker with a helicopter hovering above it) and then cramming in even more fun at the Kemah Boardwalk.
So here are some pics. Sidenotes: the kids loved everything. Noone needed disciplining at the beach at all. They didn't fight me on wearing the hats (like they did when they were babies). Neither one got too much sun thanks to those hats. Same cannot be said for me and Bevie, who both sport burns in the areas we didn't apply block copiously (backs of knees, etc). At the boardwalk, Paige insisted on trying a very scary vertical drop ride (didn't cry but hated it). Graham would have stayed there forever, and told us so. They both LOVED the train, the airplanes, and riding the carousel over and over. We got full value and use from our all-day all-ride passes. Kemah is better than a full amusement park (ala Six Flags) for 3 yr olds because you don't have far to walk between rides. Yeah for my kids -- no accidents all day and we went a very long time between bathroom opportunities!

YEA! WHAT FUN! I, actually, really enjoyed being at the coast. Because I lived near the ocean ALL the time growing up, I've never felt the need to see it frequently. Going with the lil guys and Steph was a BLAST, though. =) Also, goin' to Kehma was a load of fun, too. I rode the vertical drop ride with Paige and couldn't get over how SHE insisted on it. THe ride even made my tummy uneasy.
All of this is fun stuff!
My personal fav was the train ride and the delicious ice cream treat at the end of a hot day!
Thanks for the fun, Stephie!
XOXOXOXOXOXO!
It looks like you're having a fabulous summer, Steph! I love the pics, as always! Your kids are just beautiful and you must be SO proud at how good they're doing with the potty training. I *think* we're finally getting closer with Nate.
So you're visiting Nantucket huh? Out in our neck of the woods (relatively speaking)! :) Hope you enjoy it!
Looks like fun!
