Surprise visitors

I am so pleased to share that my parents came for a surprise visit (okay, not really surprise, but very spontaneous and last minute) . We were all very excited about it, and the kids lavished them with affection. The loving feelings flow so abundantly and mutually between grandkids and grandparents, you can't help feeling all warm and fuzzy just witnessing pure love!

So you get a picture of Al & me tonight, since my mom was here to turn the camera on us for a change. Why the black tie, you ask? We hosted a table at the opera as representatives of Anadarko. It was Puccini's Manon Lescaut. Very well done and very good music. I spent as much time watching the orchestra pit as the stage, though, because the oboe had a prominent role and he was very animated. Even Al, a non-opera kinda guy, said it exceeded expectations and he enjoyed it. (he directed me to edit this adding, "..and I would go again")

That is such an elegant and flattering dress! What's in your hair?

I have little sparkly things in my hair. I guess we should have taken a more detailed pic of the up-do. I twisted it in little bits into a messy bun and accented with the crystal combs. It got rave reviews at the opera. My first and most flattering compliment was from a lovely lady with a walker. I continued to get nice compliments from WOMEN all night. It was nice! Mommy should get out more often...
