...I just play my part in living this life. This is what I have been telling my friends as their jaws fall open upon hearing the news, the lady that keeps my house is not working this week -- she's getting elective surgery. Yep.
"I keen too, Mommy." So Graham, my ever-willing cleaning assistant and I have swept, vaccuumed, laundered and washed. I realized that my house is not getting cleaned to my standards. The likelihood that I will be ending another employee relationship is high.
We also pulled weeds, scrubbed the stone outside and watered all the planters together. Paige also helped trim back some overgrown Mexican petunias. We were wiped out. Famished. Feasted on strawberries, bacon, chips and tubes of applesauce while watching tv outside.
We came in, tidied up some more (Graham and I did this while Paige rested on the couch watching Maisy) then went up for naps. Paige slowly peeled herself off the couch and said, "I tired. I nap now. Mommy nap too? Mommy tired." So sweet.
Graham fought going down, mostly because he really wants a banana. We are out. So I promised when they wake up we'll go to the store. "Ho Foos Mahkit!" (whole foods market) declared Paigie, because they have rugalach and the car carts. She adores rugalach. The car carts are like a traveling jungle gym. Chinese fire drills throughout the store, in, out, in, out, seatbelts on, off, on, off.

OH MY GOODNESS,STEPH! Wow, what an undertaking...cleaning inside and out! At least you have two little "helpers"!!!!! =)
Paige's comments were soooo sweet...
That's great about "HO-Fo-Markhit" I can just see all the Chinease fire drills that go on. =)
Hang in there!
Love ya-Bevie-
Steph, your children are adorable and I yearn for the day when Nathaniel will say something...anything!
You were a busy lady today! I was pretty lazy and didn't do much! I'm anxiously awaiting my dh's arrival from work so I can go shopping ALONE! :)
Wow, you were busy! I love Whole Foods! Central Market is fun too. What is rugalach? I've never heard of that.
BTW, this is Brooke from the Invision board. :)
Gosh Steph, sounds like a nightmare!! Isn't it incredible though how cleaning with toddlers takes 3 times longer!! Luke tends to want to hang onto the vaccuum cleaner pushing it with me, even though I bought him his own toy Dyson!! And he insists on doing all the dusting, throwing a hissy fit if I dare dust anything myself!!!
What is rugalach??
Rugalach...Yes I want to know that too, please.I enjoy house cleaning..always have..:o)If you lived nearer to us I would clean for you for FREE! :o) A.Norma.x
That's why I'm hesitant to get a maid, I just don't think most of them can clean up to our standards! So, I've decided to let someone else do my yard, and I'll take care of the inside. I'm glad Graham and Paige helped you. Those are good habits to instill!
