DPT, QC and TLC

Sometimes they surprise you, as my mil said today when we spoke. Paige and Graham were overdue for DPT and HepA. Ugh. Off we went, with Dora dvds in tow. Mommy was in for a few surprises. We got to the dr's office quickly, despite it being noonhour rush. Once there, the waiting room was virtually empty. After a mere 5 minute wait, we were in to a BIG treatment room, they even had a DORA book that we had never before read. But here are the big shockers:

Paige went first and WAILED.
Graham went second, and I braced myself for chaos. He barely wimpered and it was over. He has a much lower pain threshold than PK, so I was really shocked.

Paige picked a red lollypop; Graham selected purple (I hate grape, icky yuck)

They both thanked the nurse -- Graham in Spanish, Paige in English -- and we left.

In the car, Paige decided against the lolly and instead feasted on WF cheese crackers. Graham polished off two lollies and asked for more.

I looked over the shots records on the way home, and the nurse had forgotten to log these shots on Graham's chart. Irritates me that on top of all my other duties, it is up to me to call them and qc their work. grrrrr!

Back home they are sacked out. I gave them Motrin because they seemed a little feverish. This was the first time that neither one wanted to take the bandaids off the injection sites. And both were snuggly, saying "Hug you, Mommy."

Small addendum: Milestone yesterday...Paige can finally jump. Yeah. We are a little behind the developmental standards on that one. I'll let y'all know when Graham is airborne.

Sorry to hear of the chaotic doctor's visit. I am surprised to hear that Paige took the shot worse than Graham. Maybe it was all the pent-up anxiety of being at the doc's....

PAIGIE'S AIRBORNE! That's great! Give her my congrats! =) I can just visualize her doing little leaps through the air! *He He*

Love you all-Bevie-

Funny how the kids can always surprise you. I'm with you on the purple, so-called "grape" flavor. I never tasted a grape like that!

Hey, and don't worry about the late jumping - apparently late jumpers excel in other areas.

Yeah, who cares about jumping when they were so interested in Bungie-Nick-and-Katie. Those kids are fearless! Well, except for maybe a shot. That hurts.

Well thanks for putting my mind at rest Jenn, I have been quietly stressing about the fact that Luke can't get the jumping thing sorted yet (his body can jump but his feet sort of stay on the floor). Well done to Paige though Steph!!

Aww, Paige and Graham are so cute! That trip to the doc's office was very cute and entertaining! Shots are so not fun! I had to get one a month or so ago before entering UT and it hurt! I didn't get a lolly pop though. :(

Yeah,I think big people should get a lolly pop, too! Love-Bevie-
