Quantum Leaps

It feels as though Paige and Graham are making amazing strides each day. Today Paige wowed us with her complete renditions of "Tinkle Tinkle Little Star" (not a typo, that's her version) and "Bah Bah Black Sheep" in their ENTIRITY. Graham is a communicator, too. He notices every noise and usually punctuates noises with "oh No!" "Oh man!" or "Wassat noise Mommy?" and whatever my reply, he always finishes with "Uh huh" He sings along with all the songs, and unlike Paige, he does not demand that I not sing along. He always instigates phone calls, usually to Grandad, Nana or Anna.

The kids moved to a new room for actual Sunday school today. No more "nursery", they are now involved with a program and actual learning. It is chaos for the teachers, though. Half the kids are potty training and the other half in diapers. Only the paid employees can change a diaper, it must be performed in the designated area of the bathroom and they have to have a witness. Now imagine that there was only one paid employee, two volunteers, and 10 two-year-old kids being plopped into a NEW ENVIRONMENT. It didn't go so well. I picked up Graham and his diaper exploded on my dress.

Tonight we had a great dinner at the Miller's house. Madison made a cake. The kids took turns singing "Happy Birthday to [each name]" and blowing out the candles. When we left, Graham put away his stroller, said nigh night to it, then gave his buddy Annelise a giant hug and kiss and said, "Gracias". I loved their little embrace, it was very strong and real -- not just for show for their mommies.

I tried to get the songs on video, but Paige insists on holding the camera WHILE she's singing, and then she hits the record button, which pauses it. I'll have to rig a more stealthy camera to be successful, I'm afraid.

Yes, I was so impressed last weekend with Paige's ability to sing entire songs (unlike Colin who hits the phonic highlights) -- and it made me remember Anna singing at that age. Such sweet girls. Maybe we should plan a duet: "Cousins... cousins..."

And how funny that Graham wants to call Nana and Grandad -- Colin, too!

Sorry they got bumped out of their nursery with the nice lady. At least you got a nice dinner with nice people. The Millers are terrific!

Both Paige and Graham have made GREAT strides since the last time I saw them...back in May.I was in awe at all the songs they could sing...and their vocabulary!!!! It's amazing how 3 months can make a BIG difference in growing kids!

Yuck! Sorry to hear about Graham's diaper explosion...that's no fun. Love-Bevie-

P.S. I'm all for the "Cousin Duet"!!! =)

Grandad and Nana like getting calls from our grandkids as much as they like calling - just keep it up! (please) Love, Nana
