Well, I had a rough night last night. A little food poisoning/intestine bug kept me busily flushing in the wee hours. Don't worry, no photos attached to this post. But it didn't really get better from there.
We had made plans to hire on a new live-in nanny since Emily is returning to campus life. But in her short two weeks of working here, C. crashed and burned. She was great with the kids but ran late, was inconsistent energy-wise, and the icing on the cake was that today she gave me some serious attitude. And I should add that she'd already been given warnings this week by both of us, so you would think she'd be putting in a little extra effort to prove her worth -- instead it was the opposite! I just didn't have it in me to put up with it, so I paid her for her time and wished her luck. The kids will miss her. They liked her.
That sounds clean and straight-forward, except that now I don't have childcare for the fall. Also, in the coming days while we are away, Emily will be working alone with P&G rather than the cushier assignment she was supposed to have of working in tandem with C. I know she can do it, but I feel bad that all the responsibility now rests on her shoulders at the last minute. Luckily my buddies are going to come over with their tots for some playdates to break up the monotony.

Bummer! Hopefully a better candidate will turn up soon.
Sorry, Jessica is not available. (Why must she go to college?...)
Sorry things turned out that way! I have to admit.....it will be difficult to find another nanny like Emily C.!!!!! =)

Hope you're feeling better.
