The endless happy smelling possibilities...yes I'm talking about the "bread" again

Today I morphed the friendship bread into a savory loaf. I think it was successful; my mom came by and ate a slice right away while it was still warm. I gave her a loaf to take to Austin, too. For those with the starter here are my recipe additions/deletions:

no add'l sugar after you divide the dough babies out
no vanilla or pudding either
add extra salt, pepper, fresh herbs from the garden, sesame seeds or nuts you like
1/4 or less cup crumbled blue cheese
a handful of chopped black olives
roughly twice the called for baking soda
1/4 cup extra flour

I sprinkled sea salt and olive oil on top of the loaves and baked as normal, about an hour, but turned the oven down to 300 for the last 15 minutes because it was looking brown.

My 'winningest' sweet bread, named Mommy Cakes by the children, has these additions:
chopped pecans, slivered almonds, and chopped walnuts
2-3 large freshly shredded carrots
tons of cinnamon
freshly grated nutmeg
subtract 1/3 cup of sugar
add 2 tbsp abbamele (sardinian honey with pollen, could use briar rabbit as alternate, or molasses)
extra vanilla
vanilla or coconut pudding

Here are some pictures from Graham's big day at school:

I made some banana bread yesterday. Just sort of OK and I used four bananas instead of the two the recipe called for. Might try some biscuits. I really like the idea of your Mommy Cakes - those will be next! I have PLENTY dough babies to play with! - Allison

I love Graham's beaming face in these pictures. That's great that they pick days for the summer babies to celebrate with their class.
