Paige had her big alone trip this week accompanying me to NYC. We had a ball as the pictures attest, and she wowed us all with her poise and stamina -- woke at 4:45 a.m. Central and didn't hit the pillow until almost 11:30 p.m. Eastern.
South Pacific was terrific (hee hee) and our seats were outstanding. We were perched at stage level, orchestra section just over the front left stage exit that was used often by the actors all throughout the musical. The jutting theatre stage retracted. This was a great effect, making the audience's relationship with the orchestra feel more personal and interactive. The voices were great, the dancing was fun, and the whole production was so well done. Love the songs, all stuck in my head. There was one part of "Nothing Like a Dame" where the whole crew of Seabees were singing full tilt right at us. It was enough to make Em and I blush. Phew, wow!
We shopped all the sales, and found great books at Mary Arnold. We wanted to skate but it was a "wintry mix" of slush and rain all day. Fortune smiled on us this morning, though, and we awoke to bright, dry sunny skies and after a scrumptious breakfast in bed, we dashed over to Central Park for ice skating! Homeward bound and due at the airport immediately afterwards, Paige endured jogging back to the car with flushed cheeks and no complaints even though she was winded.

I remember when you briefly had a part in the Midland Theater version of S. Pacific -- good choice!
She really did do well on the skates. Must have been a terrific night at the show.
Ah, so close, yet so far -- at least you were in my state!! One of these days you'll have to bring the kids to Lake Placid for skiing or something.
Sounds like an awesome trip to NYC!
Oops, that was me.
