Biden my time

A few bonus images from last week here. To answer my sister Jenn's question from earlier posting -- We did not have a fighter pilot, but a last minute change into a warlock. The whims of a 5-yr-old boy! I had fun buying extra costumes in the 75% off section at Pottery Barn Kids. Evelyn wasn't as fired up about the french fry kit as I was! Also pictured here, an impromptu play on the front lawn with Carroll and Henry. Post-Halloween movie day at our house with the neighborhood gang.

We have a nice, healthy butterfly plant in our front bed with the tomatoes, brussel sprouts, zucchini and cucumbers. It is rapidly being consumed by very hungry caterpillars. I am loving being a spectator to the whole metamorphing process. It is flabbergasting how much they can change in a day, an hour even. The monarch butterfly. The chrysalis forms like magic. Truly. It is just an everyday miracle. Makes me believe. Change can happen. And, just as Darwin learned from his travels to the Galapagos Islands, it can happen in giant steps, not just baby ones. So, getting a bit philosophical (and incase I haven't yet ticked off all my readers with references to evolution and miracles, here I go into politics)Today, will our nation make such a quantum leap?

Change for the better or for worse?....Hmmmm, only time will tell.

beautiful photos. The french fries costume is hysterical! Evie doesn't look thrilled, though.

Would you like fries with that Happy Meal? :-)

I've watched a caterpillar turn into a crysallis, too, and it is amazing. Worth sacrificing a little bit of garden for, I guess. When I explain the flea lifecycle to clients, I tell them they are just like a butterfly, with egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages.

We're making a giant leap.

Where we're leaping has yet to be determined.
