Update on all my babies

Paige and Graham had their 3-year check-up a little early, since we needed to be up-to-date on our shots prior to starting school camp. They both decided to be brave for the Hep-A shot, and kept their eye on the goal -- a lollipop! Paige is in the 75/85 percentile on height and weight at 36 1/2 inches tall and 32 lbs. Graham is in the 50/50 percentile for boys at the exact same height as Paige and weighing one pound less.

Another milestone for P&G -- they got out of bed by themselves the other night at about 9:00 p.m....not to come downstairs, oh no, just to slam their door shut (BOOM!) I was alarmed by the sound, and luckily Al had just walked in the door. I asked him to check on what had fallen upstairs. He went up there, heard the little voices and said to them, "What is going on in here?" Upon hearing his stern voice, Paige darted across the room, lept back in bed and didn't move. Graham said, "Paige was just shutting the door. We wanted it shut." We giggled and felt a little melancholy at their loss of babyhood that night.

Last night, when I tucked them in, I said, "Goodnight. Sweet dreams, Mommy and Daddy love you." as usual and added, "No getting out of bed."
I stood in the hallway with the door cracked and overheard:

"Paigie, you get up and close the door?"
"No, I not."
"Whyyyy Paaaaaaaigie?"
"Mommy said I not."

Phew. We'll see how long that lasts!

Today I had my 8 weeks ultrasound, and the little bitty one is going strong. It is now the size of an olive and is starting to lose it's alien shape. I saw the brain forming, the spine, the heartbeat, the arm and leg buds, the blood flowing through the umbilical cord, and the baby moved! Of course I couldn't feel it move, just saw it on the screen. Very exciting stuff. Brought the images home and both kids enjoyed seeing them and hearing about the developing organs. Al is also still fascinated by the news. At the end of this week, the embryo will graduate to fetus status.

Wow, that is a HUGE milestone for the kiddos- getting out of bed on their own accord!!!!!! Mom and I giggled so much about their little conversation and how Paige lept into bed and pretended to be sleeping.....so cute! Yet, at the same time it's SUPER hard to see them growing up sooooo fast!

YEAH!That's wonderful news about the lil one! Very exciting stuff!ISn't the technology AMAZING these days....

XOXOXOXOXOXO!

Awesome about the little bean, life is just so amazing..

The dialog between your kiddos is just too cute. Reminds me of a couple 3yr old twins near and dear to me..

Oh Steph, I am soooo dreading Luke going into his big boy bed. So funny their little conversation, and what about Graham being the instigator of it .. tut tut (or tee hee) Isn't it very exciting charting the progress of the little bean baby, when I was carrying Luke I would inform anyone that came near me exactly what stage he was at ...."he now has his arm and legs", "he is now the size of a pencil", am sure people thought I was insane. I love reading about their conversations. It's so interesting hearing how they relate to each other. Glad they did well on their checkup. And congrats on the new little one! I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl.
