Al was out of town all week (so it seemed but really he was home Wednesday night), and I hated not to spend time with him the first night he was going to be home for dinner on Thursday, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the Houston Ballet's performance of Swan Lake -- and, wow, what a treat, Gayle Kennedy and Kathy Galt hosted me in their Patron box! I felt like royalty. It was phenomenal. It was especially fun because I am practicing the main theme song from Swan Lake on my oboe these days.
Then Friday I flew to Dallas to have dental work done. SIX STRAIGHT HOURS worth of dental work. All I can say is I am glad to be living in the modern era, or I'd be dead by now. A nasty death from decay in my mouth which would probably have killed me by entering my blood and bones (Jenn, help me out here, I'm sure you can give the medical jargon) I had dinner and stayed with John and Anne Marie. Jason Nichols joined us, too (old college buddy of mine) Saturday I was so happy to get home and see my happy, loving family. We just loved on eachother for the rest of the weekend.
Tonight Al and I are attending a dinner with special honored guests: Barbara & George H. W. Bush. I wasn't old enough to vote for him when he won the Presidential election. I didn't vote for him in '92 when he was defeated and I was old enough; it was my first cast ballot. That said, I have more than a modicum of respect for anyone who has held the office of P.O.T.U.S. So I'm looking forward to tonight.
Yeehaw, cowpokes, stay tuned for Rodeo pics. Al and I are going to the George Strait concert that opens the rodeo tomorrow night. Paige and Graham are sporting cowboy hats these days and shouting, "Yahoo!" and "Yipee-eye-oo". We will take them to the petting zoo and children's fairground Wednesday.

Aw, I'm disappointed we didn't get to see you while you were in Dallas. I really want you to meet Steve.
Sounds like your social calendar is full!
Ohh, I'd love to take KK to see Swan Lake! Hey, we're going to see George Strait too!!! We're going to be in the 4th and 5th row. I wish I could take the kids with us but they said only 2 and under are free and I don't think KK could pass for 2 anymore.
I think you refer to the bacteremia caused by periodontal disease...more likely to affect your heart valves and kidneys more than your bones. Glad you got that taken care of!
