Tres bon anniversaire!

It was a fantastic birthday weekend. Al brought out a whole family of friends for us to play with, and play we did! Not only did we get to catch up with our good friends Carter and Lizzy, but Paige, Graham and Evelyn were sublimely happy to have their good buddies Grace and Eliza prancing around the house and gardens with them all day and snuggling up all night, and then doing it all over again the next day. We had fun at Solana Beach on my birthday and then a brilliant day at the La Jolla tidepools Saturday. Carter and Al did lots of grilling and chopping and dishwashing. It was all so, so good. Happy Birthday, indeed! Oooh, and I can't forget to mention the cake. It was the finest birthday cake ever, ordered up by Al. It was like a wedding cake. So good. And the words on top read: Happy Birthday Cali Girl. Perfect. I received so many emails, texts, vms, calls, fb msgs, cards and gifts...it was truly an amazing and well-acknowledged birthday. I feel pinch-me lucky.
