heading home

I'm coming home from a trip with Al and friends that should have been restorative. But with the offshore rig Horizon exploding and sinking into the Gulf of Mexico in a shroud of black smoke and it's wellhead still spewing into the water, it is not hard, it is impossible to turn our attention away.

Uncle Noel and I watched it on TV last night..now I know what you are posting about..it looks awful,Stephanie, Noel wondered why they had only one line instead of two on the Sea bed..then he said they could have plugged one line and used the other..of course that's only going on what he could see. :)

Norma,
This is a blowout, not a pipeline leak. There are no production facilities or pipelines that are or were hooked to any of the equipment on the rig. I agree that it is difficult for tv viewers to see/understand the complexity of the situation. TransOcean owned and operated the drilling rig and BP leased the oil that would eventually be produced. There is a lot of misinformation out there, but the truth will all come to light eventually. The important thing right now is to contain the leak.
