Precious little time

There is so little time to spare, and I do have so many thoughts. I know my blog has become more of a photo repository than a dialogue of our days lately, but it is all I can do! Must put this one down for posterity for sure:

"Mommy, sometimes I have these sort of big serious thoughts and questions in my head and they keep coming back."
"Okay, tell me, like what, Paige?"
"Well, I wonder. I wonder why are we all not dead? Why is the planet, our Earth, still going? Why doesn't it just stop?"
pause.
breath.
"Well, I think of those things sometimes too, Paige, and I just come back to what I know. What I know is that we are all here now. We don't know what is before or after or when it will end. But we are here and we have one thing to do: love. We are supposed to love each other and that is the one reason for it all. It is that simple, there isn't much more to it that I can find. We have these days together, and we should use them to show each other our love."

What would you say?

Picks are from our cold, windy daytrip to Galveston on Monday since noone had school.

Wow, big existential questions from Paige!

Hmmm, I guess Paige is 'the Thinker' in the Family then with an enquiring mind.. (I have that too and some People call ME nosy! ) :)

Superb pictures,Stephanie, not a soul in sight..I need that at the moment. :) xx

Good answer. I also believe we are here to learn as much as we can, and we learn the most through our relationships with others. And I hope to leave things a little better than I found them.

She's always been a ponderer. I remember even as an infant we would notice how she would observe and take it all in.

I agree with you, life is about the relationships we make with everyone from our mother to our teachers, friends, the deli owner, and the stranger in line and online :)

Great question from Paige, those kinds of thoughts are often hard to verbalize.
