We counted over 90 rings on this pine that fell on our street.

This branch kept traffic off our street for a week (see the week-old and soon-to-be-gouged asphalt?)

Here's the bottomed-up trunk of a majestic tree three blocks from our house.

It takes a long, long time to put the pieces back together after a hurricane. Our floors are warped, our garage door was taken off the mechanism so we could get the cars out -- now the guy came to "fix" it and burned out the motor, tree trunks are the last behemoths to leave the cluttered curbs. Our just-reasphalted-street is now gouged from the fork lifts that scraped off all the downed, browned limbs of the giant fallen pines and oaks, and the house alarm is now restored after the main panel was burned up in the power surge that preceded the over-week-long outage.
But other than that, we can't complain.

I'm glad I slept through it.
Wow. Impressive pictures of the devastation.
P&G are just so cute.
The death of such grand trees is always so sad.
Wow. Can't imagine the amount of clean-up.
Love Paige's work clothes. I *always* wear a sparkley tu-tu to rake leaves! :)
