Time and Tide

Anyone else remember that great Basia song? "Time and Tide, nothin' and noone can stop us now..." Today the sun shone so brightly on this little island that my feet were dangerously hot on the trot from our cottage (or The Cupboard as Graham calls it) to the Sound. THe tide was out, exposing a fantastic sand bar out in the crystal clear water. We all hung out out there, and Evelyn was giddy, splish splashing around on one of nature's kiddy pools. It was endless fun, and we kept saying "Baby on the go!" as we raced alongside her in the four inch solar-heated salt water. We all cleaned up for LoLa sushi and then took a stroll down to Brandt Point Lighthouse for sunset pics and playing on the rocks as the ferries passed by. Evelyn joined us in mimicking the lighthouse "booooop booooop" then we hopped back over to our own beach thinking we'd watch the fiery sun extinguished on the water -- but it was not meant to be tonight. A mysterious and thick fog blanketed the sky in no time, and we were all glowing like ghosts in our white shirts.

Pics will have to wait. THis new computer that Al was kind enough to send isn't allowing me to download/upload. (The other computer died.) Oh well. I just hope they can retrieve the pictures I downloaded to that old one. Believe it or not some pics didn't make their way to the blog. I am such a shutterbug, you'd think I have enough pics of the kids to last a lifetime, but the idea of any of those images being lost makes me anxious. I hoard photos. I hoard memories. It's as though after sucking the marrow out of life I have to keep the bones as keepsakes.
