Reviving Pasquini

Well, it was a good and busy day. I was able to conquer a project that has been on my list for months (a year?)

I revived the trusty rusty old cappucino machine. I had to stay in the house anyway while the plumbers were plumbing, so I was inspired by their work. I got out my screwdriver and a whole lotta elbow grease. Thank goodness Emily took P&G for a walk so I could get this done.

I had the whole thing back together just in time to head out for a nice lunch and kid-free conversation with Andrea at Kraftsmen Bakery. Then I spent a couple of hours shopping with Katie. Returned home to giddy Paige and Graham, both well-napped and cared for by Carrie from 12-5:30. I spent a wonderful evening alone with the two kids. We ate Chipotle, then they asked to swim. We swam for a loooooooong time, then lingered in the outdoor shower. Thank you plumber Victor for fixing the temp gauge on it!!!!!! Finally after pjs and Tom & Jerry and books, I was able to revisit my coffee maker project. I ran the water and the steam, then loaded up a portion of Lavazza. The end result was a pretty good espresso, which I tasted sommelier-style, since it is nighttime now and I really want to sleep soon.

Funny things said today,

This morning, "Gam both pillahs Mommy" pointing out that she had given Graham her pillow.

"Ou'side. Sim sim. I'm nuuuuuuuuudie!"

"Mommy, go put moh budseed?" "Mommy's turn. I turn. I do it." "Hi bewdy. Look bewdseed. Eat. Eat it."

"Mommy look, watch me Mommy, I do it"

"oooh, I hear heliter" "I see it." "All gone. Nother one soon."

"Mommy what's that?" (it was the song of cicadas, I tell them, "Cicadas") "Uh huh. Cadas."

"Moh ice. Moh juice tease. Mommy juice. mmm soso" (for those that don't know that is short for delicioso)

Paige's words for I love you "I jud joo"
Graham's take on the phrase "I neuuw"

"Mommy look, a bug boo boo" (it was a seed stuck on Paige's foot)

Then as the day closed, "Daddy no 'ere. Nigh nigh Daddy. Daddy out. I neuw MommyDaddy." This is Paige after she told me, "Mommy, baby bweeto" which means she wanted me to make her into a baby burrito. Then she said, "Pitcha me" and posed for the picture.

Aw, such sweet words. How cool for you to hear 2 toddlers' distinct interpretations of English!
