We have gone native, so says Al. The kids are completely horse crazy, and this is such a fulfilling thing! I am so pleased that Paige has found something that is so mentally and physically challenging. It is something to behold when your child is immersed in a skill that so fully engrosses them! She is all in. She needs massages nightly because she works so dang hard her little legs are sore. Today her arms are as well, since she is working on a new horse with a huge gorgeous neck. He's used to a more mature girl, so he is seeing how hard Paige is willing to work to keep his head "set" for the saddle seat look.

Graham rode Khaos for the first time today. We are trying this 10 yr-old gelding out before purchase. He is sweet and calm and behaves well around children. He's done plenty of showing and is interested in turn outs and trail rides. Graham hopes to show him in a local competition in just a week. Lots of work to be done as we get to know eachother.

The Beaner is all out all horses all the time. She pushed herself beyond her limits this week with full day preK and horsebackriding daily. Heaven help the person that tries to stand in her way. Luckily she has taken to her siblings putting her down for a nap this summer (and now fall weekends too, dare I hope?) Here is the spot she asked Paige to create for her on Paige's bedroom floor today. Good thing, too, because after this, we all went surfing in Del Mar!
