How I Spent My Summer Vacation

The bird dog takes her job seriously, climbing to new heights - in trees!

The cousins take a stroll down Moonlight Beach at sunset. Evelyn, Paige, Graham, Colin and Anna. Ages 4, 8, 8, 8, 10 from left to right:

Bevie takes a brief break from her summer of work and love in Arizona:

Paigie spies yet another winner coming down the stretch where the turf meets the surf, down at ol' Del Mar:

Evelyn Bea and her beloved sitter Sara ham it up at Claire's:

I conquer the elusive art of grape jelly making with these little pearls of sugar from our garden:

Evelyn still naps at age four. She's joyful about it.

The girls patrol the garden beds, keeping them pest free. Bogey patrols the girls.

We walk the pier at Oceanside as the big orange ball dips into the deep blue sea.

Some crazy children go for a nudie swim at dusk

This is a thistle along my running route near the house:

This is the thistle's cousin, overgrown and enjoyed by Babbity Bumble in our garden:

To go on the safari where you experience giraffe saliva, one must be six years old. Evelyn observes Mommy changing her birthdate by a smidge with jaw-dropping delight:

Paige spies this heart-shaped cactus paddle along the bridle path. It reminds me of home:

Becky enjoys the sunset with Paige and Graham:

Sara shows us how to find starfish at the roots of the washed up sea kelp:

Waiting in line is more fun when you have a cousin to hang with:

Nothing says togetherness like the Family Dryer:

Only found at the back of Legoland amusement park: The Joy of Fried Apples!
