What is this?

What is the purpose of this blog? I laugh when I look back at my first entry. I think I thought I'd share my bargain hunting finds with others. I quickly learned noone was tuning in for that. But what is this then? Do I write to feed the tuner-inners what they long to see, or do I write for me? Or do I write for nostalgia, for my children to have a bit of a journal of days from their childhoods? Do I write to make a bold statement? To stand my ground or state my opinion? I don't think my blog aspires to many of these except to just randomly write down or upload, as the case is more frequently, things that touch me about our daily lives. And in doing that, maybe I leave behind something for my kiddos to enjoy reading later and for you to want to digest as it comes. I'm going to do more, not less, blogging now. I think it is a happy exercise that makes me touch base with whatever is in me that's making me tick. I'm going to post pictures with abandon and just get my thoughts down on the page with better frequency before they shrivel up like the proverbial raisin in the sun. All this is to say, this isn't a place to come and judge, it's just a place for me to be and you to see, if you choose. And comment, if you like, but it's not a referendum on my life or lifestyle.
This first shot is of some unbelievably funny party foods at Evelyn's class Halloween party. The mom REALLY went all out with many thoughtful touches. The day was beautiful, so the kids ate a hotdog and then played on the swingset. The moms all oohed and ahhed at the clever party apps.

Here is the evening scene on the lawn at our friends' house last Friday. We had a wonderful time and ate very, very well while all the kiddywinks played blissfully together. GOod GOOD times.

Here's one Al asked if he could take before we hit the Del Monte party scene:

This isn't the best picture I took this day with Evelyn in the pumpkin patch, but something about it makes me think WOW. Our littlest is growing, as she likes to say, "Tawlah (taller) Tawlahr Tawlahr!"

I'm so glad you are going to blog more and not less. I come to read because I enjoy hearing about your family and the wonderful moments captured in your photos. I have always enjoyed art that depicts the everyday and shows the viewer how extraordinary life is if noticed. I think you do that beautifully.
